Dobashi Kaede (土橋楓), better known by her stage names Kaede (楓) and KAEDE, is a Japanese performer, actress and model. She is a member of f5ve and a former member of Happiness and E-girls.

She is an exclusive model of the fashion magazine CanCam.

Early Life

Dobashi was born on January 11, 1996 in Yokosuka, a city located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She has a younger brother and a younger sister.

When she was a child, she used to sing and dance with her siblings and cousin in front of her family at her grandparents' house. This made her realize that she loved the feeling of performing in front of people and "owning the stage", which led her to start dancing. Additionally, she was inspired to become a performer by the members of the J-Pop girl group Morning Musume, wanting to "shine as brightly as them".

In her first year of middle school, she began to attend EXPG Tokyo. Afterwards, she appeared at EXILE's events, music videos and on tour as a background dancer.

Career

2008

In October, it was decided that she would become a member of the unit Happiness among other EXPG students, and her official stage name became KAEDE.

2011

On February 9, she made her major debut as a member of Happiness with their single "Kiss Me".

In March, she made her modeling debut by appearing ín the magazine GLAMOROUS.

On April 24, she was announced as member of E-girls, having a concurrent position between the group and Happiness.

2013

On June 3, she changed her stage name to her given name (Kaede) written in Kanji (楓).

On July 22, it was announced that Kaede had been chosen as muse for the apparel brand Samantha Thavasa and would start working as an exclusive model for the magazine CanCam.

2014

In January, she made her debut as actress in the TV drama Koibumi Biyori.

2015

In April, she was on the cover of the June issue of the magazine CanCam, being her first magazine cover since her debut as a model.

2017

On August 29, she released her first photobook titled Nee, Kiite!!.

2020

On December 31, she left E-girls with the group's disbandment.

2021

On December 15, she attended the BVLGARI AVRORA AWARDS 2021 held in Chiba Prefecture.

2022

On May 21, it was announced that Kaede would participate in a new project based overseas together with Happiness members SAYAKA, MIYUU and Kawamoto Ruri and iScream member RUI, while staying as a member of her original group at the same time. The unit had been teased before during the CL program Happiness×iScream "Joshi-kai" on May 18.

On December 7, she attended the BVLGARI AVRORA AWARDS 2022 ceremony held in Tokyo.

2023

On September 26, she left Happiness with the group's disbandment.

Personal Life

Family

Kaede's cousin is "Miss Japan 2021", "Miss Kanagawa" and dancer Koyama Mana. Both love dancing and have been dancing together and improving each other since we were little. Koyama was a contestant on PRODUCE 101 JAPAN: THE GIRLS.

• Kaede and Flower member Sato Harumi's duo name is "Twin Tower". This title was given to them due to both members being the tallest of their respective groups.
• On September 14, 2016 she started an Instagram account together with Sato Harumi. On November 12, 2016, she started her own personal account.
