MIYUU

Ariiso Miyuu (有磯実結), better known by her stage name MIYUU, is a Japanese performer and choreographer. She is a member of SG5 and a former member of Happiness and E-girls.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Ariiso Miyuu was born on August 16, 1996 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

In her childhood, she started attending EXPG Tokyo, and often appeared at EXILE's events, in their music videos and on tour as a child back dancer. These experiences inspired her to become an artist like them.[1]

2008[]

In October, it was decided that she would become a member of the unit Happiness among other EXPG students, and her official stage name became MIYUU.

2011[]

On February 9, she made major debut with Happiness with their single "Kiss Me".

On April 24, she was announced as member of E-girls, having a concurrent position between the group and Happiness.

2014[]

On January 30, she was announced as leader of Happiness.

2017[]

On March 10, MIYUU revealed that she underwent a surgery on her left knee due to the condition of her lateral meniscus being considered damaged, and halted her activities on both groups until she fully recovered.

Message from MIYUU
"This is MIYUU.

Thank you very much for your constant support. I have some bad news to tell you.

The condition of my knee was getting worse since mid-January. After several examinations performed in hospital, I was diagnosed with left lateral meniscus tear.

I thought that I could not dance with my full strength if I did nothing. Therefore, I decided to have a surgery.

Because of the surgery I received, I cannot present performances before I make a full recovery. However, I will still spare no effort to do what I can during this period.

Moreover, I will focus on treatment and rehabilitation in order to present wonderful performances with all my power. Please wait patiently during this short period of time.

I know you may feel surprised at the sudden bad news. Please don't get worried about me and please keep supporting me in the future."

On June 5, with the reformulation of the E-girls project as E.G.family, she announced to be leaving E-girls after the E-girls LIVE 2017 ~E.G.EVOLUTION~ concerts in July to dedicate herself to Happiness, and also as a choreographer, live composer and as director of the group.

On July 16, she graduated from E-girls. After graduating from E-girls, Happiness took a break from their activities for a while, so she personally spent a year and a half studying as a choreographer. For this reason, she went to Los Angeles for a month to train as a choreographer, and after that she learned how to work behind the scenes, such as creating choreographies for E-girls and supporting members.[2]

2022[]

On May 21, it was announced that MIYUU would participate in a new project based overseas together with Happiness members Kaede, SAYAKA and Kawamoto Ruri and iScream member RUI, while staying as a member of her original group at the same time.[3] The unit had been teased before during the CL program Happiness×iScream "Joshi-kai" on May 18.

2023[]

On September 26, she left Happiness with the group's disbandment.
