Yamazaki Ria (山﨑莉愛), better known by her stage name RIA, is a Japanese model, singer and performer.

She passed the iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ audition in the girls division as one of seven winners in 2022 and was selected as one of the members of a future girl group.

Biography

Yamazaki Ria was born on September 10, 2006 in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.

In her youth, she started working as a child model.

From 2021 to 2022, she participated in the girls division of the audition iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ and was chosen as one of 7 winners, securing her spot and debut as a member of a future girl group.

On November 30, 2022 it was announced that RIA had been suffering from health issues, specifically back pain, during the training and preparation for her debut, and thus would cease her activities. While she initially wanted to continue training with the support of medical professionals, it was decided that she would not debut as a member of the group or participate in any activities in order for her to focus on treatment, taking into consideration her current symptoms and age, after repeated discussions between her, her family, the members and staff.

Thank you for your constant support to LDH and "iCON Z Girls Group Audition". Here is a notice on the future activities of the qualified member RIA of the girl group division in "iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~". After the announcement of qualified applicants of the audition at the end of September, RIA felt waist pain during the training and preparation for her debut. As a result, she was examined and treated in hospital. She had wanted to try her best to continue the training with the support of members and the medical institution. In consideration of the future activities carried out as a group member, current symptoms and the age, she has made a decision that she will not make her debut as a group member this time and will cancel her future activities for the treatment as a result of the repeated discussions between RIA and her family, members and staff. We would like to sincerely apologize to all people who have given their support and related people for worries and troubles caused by this sudden announcement. RIA not only spared no effort in the audition but also will work hard for her dreams in the future. We staff would like to express deep regret at this result as well. LDH and team CDL will keep on supporting RIA's thoughts and dreams. We hope you can warmly protect the future of young and promising RIA. In addition, the qualified members of "iCON Z Girls Group Audition" will carry out activities for the goal of making their debut as a 6-member girl group in the future.
