Sato Harumi

Sato Harumi (佐藤晴美) is a Japanese performer, model and actress. She is a former member of Flower and former leader of E-girls.

She is an exclusive model of the fashion magazine Ray.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Sato Harumi was born on June 8, 1995 in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.

Prior to auditioning to LDH, Sato attended classes on Dance Studio MPF from the second grade of elementary school to second grade of junior high school and also took classes on Dance Studio ViVid in Fukushima Prefecture.

2011[]

On July 26, during an E-Girls SHOW event in SHIBUYA-AX, it was revealed that Sato was one of the winners of the VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 3 and was added to FLOWER as a performer alongside Bando Nozomi.[1] On that same day, she was also added as a member of E-girls, having a concurrent position between the group and FLOWER. Looking back on her joining E-girls, Sato later revealed, "I was hoping to work in dance, but I didn't think it would be in the entertainment industry."[2]

On October 12, she made debut as a member of FLOWER with the single "Still".

2012[]

In March, she made her modeling debut by participating in the TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION.

2013[]

On July 22, it was announced that Sato had been chosen as muse for the apparel brand Samantha Thavasa and would start working as an exclusive model for the magazine Ray starting from the September issue.[3]

2014[]

In January, she made her debut as actress on the TV drama Koibumi Biyori.

2017[]

In January, she was the cover of the March issue of Ray, being her first magazine cover since her debut as a model.[4]

On August 29, she released her first photobook titled Harumiiro.

In late October, Sato was appointed as E-girls' leader.[5]

2018[]

On August 3, she performed at the "DANCE ALIVE WORLD CUP 2018" together with the dance crew "Fabulous Sisters".[6]

2019[]

On September 8, Sato was invited to attend the Tommy Hilfiger runway show "TOMMYNOW starring TommyXZendaya" during New York Fashion Week.[7]

On September 30, she left Flower with the group's disbandment, remaining as member of E-girls.

On December 22, with the announcement of E-girls' disbandment set for around the end of 2020, it was revealed that Sato would focus on acting and modeling activities.[8]

2020[]

On December 31, she left E-girls with the group's disbandment. After the disbandment, her profile was moved to the model section.

2021[]

On March 12, she released her first style guide titled sweet Tokubetsu Henshu H.[9]

In October she was appointed as an ambassador of the women's lifestyle brand UNOHA by ASICS.[10]

2022[]

On January 19, she was appointed as the new muse of the lingerie brand PEACH JOHN.[11][12][13][14][15]

  • On September 14, 2016, she started an Instagram account alongside Kaede. On November 12, 2017, she started her own Instagram account.
  • Initially, she learned jazz dance and contemporary dance.[50]
  • Described as a very sweet and innocencent person with a great smile who is loved by the people around her by her group members. Additionally, she would be quick to notice changes among the members and follow them, bing able to read the atmosphere.[51]
  • According to herself, she often forgets things and is told by staff that she is restless.[52]
  • The person she talks to the most is her mother. "I have been calling her almost every day since I moved to Tokyo without fail."[53]
  • According to herself, she inherited her parents' tall stature.[54]
  • After E-girls' dissolution, she revealed that she would still be taking dancing lessons and train "so that she can go on stage anytime".[54] According to herself, the group's breakup made her realize how much she loves dancing.[55]
  • A self-proclaimed workaholic who views life and work as equal. According to herself, she is not good at separating her life from her work: "My happiness in my work is my happiness in my life."[2]
    • She has never wanted to quit her job, and in fact, she mentioned "I would rather quit anything that gets in the way of my work."[2]
    • In terms of relationships, she revealed that she would have her own goals at the same time (as love) to keep a balance and that it would be impossible for her if a man asked her to stop working because he would earn the money.[2]
  • During her time in E-girls, she worked hand in hand with the members and took the stance of "just going about the things in front of me with a single-minded devotion".[2]
